Bengaluru, Feb. 26 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday refuted speculation about his alleged proximity to the BJP, asserting that his participation in the Maha Shivratri celebrations at Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore was purely an expression of personal faith.

"I have noticed various reports and received calls from friends asking whether I am moving closer to the BJP. Let me clarify-I am a born Congressman. My participation in the Maha Shivratri event is a matter of faith, and I respect all religions. Speculations suggesting otherwise hold no ground," he stated.
