New York, Sept. 3 -- Novak Djokovic kept his Grand Slam dream alive as he overcame Taylor Fritz 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in a hard-fought US Open quarterfinal at Arthur Ashe Stadium today IST.
The Serbian veteran, seeded seventh, extended his perfect record against Fritz to 11-0 and entered his fourth successive Grand Slam semifinal of the year. Djokovic, 38, is eyeing a record 25th major title and his 11th final appearance in New York, where he has already lifted the trophy four times.
"It was an incredibly close match. Honestly, I don't know how I pulled it off. He was the better player for parts of the match, and a few points decided it," Djokovic admitted after surviving a tense four-set duel.
