New Delhi, Oct. 21 -- This year's Diwali festivities have shone brightly not only in homes but across India's economy, marking a landmark moment for the country's retail landscape.

A detailed nationwide survey conducted by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and showcased by the Prime Minister's Office Research & Trade Development Society reveals that during the Diwali 2025 season, India witnessed an extraordinary trading volume, Rs 5.40 lakh crore in goods and Rs 65,000 crore in services. This is the highest festive turnover ever recorded in Indian retail history.
