Srinagar, Sept. 3 -- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg today said that the next sixto eight hours are "very crucial" as water levels at key flood gauges in Sangam in Anantnag and Ram Munshi Bagh in Srinagar continue to rise amid relentless rainfall in south Kashmir.

He said that while rain water levels had briefly receded during the day, the situation is being closely monitored with field teams of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department on the ground.

"Some villages in Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama are undergoing preventive evacuation, and similar precautionary measures are being activated in parts of Srinagar to ensure that no harmcomes to anyone," Garg said.
