New York/New Delhi, June 9 -- A disturbing video of an Indian student being handcuffed and pinned to the floor at Newark Airport has sparked outrage. The Indian Consulate in New York said it is in touch with local authorities in the matter.
According to a series of viral videos posted on X by Indian-American Kunal Jain, a social entrepreneur, the student reportedly hails from Haryana and couldn't clearly explain his reason for his visit.
"I witnessed a young Indian student being deported from Newark Airport last night- handcuffed, crying, treated like a criminal. He came chasing dreams, not causing harm. As an NRI, I felt helpless and heartbroken. This is a human tragedy.
