Moradabad, Sept. 8 -- A 40-year-old district president of the Hindu Samaj Party was shot dead by six persons in a suspected supremacy clash on Sambhal Road in Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said today.

Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Ranvijay Singh informed that the incident occurred around 6 pm last evening when the victim, Kamal Chauhan (40) of Double Phatak Das Sarai locality under Katghar police station, was returning home on a scooter with his neighbour Vishal Chauhan.

"As soon as he reached Sambhal Road, the miscreants who were already waiting there shot him in the head and body, killing him on the spot," he said.
