Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- In view of the heavy rains continuing in Mumbai and across the state, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today visited the State Emergency Operations Center in Mantralaya this afternoon and reviewed the situation arising from the downpour.
Since many villages in Ashti and Pathardi talukas of Beed district were surrounded by floodwaters and about 40 villagers were stranded, Shinde instructed that they should be airlifted with the help of NDRF and shifted to a safe location.
During the review, he also interacted with district collectors of the rain affected districts, gathered information regarding relief and rescue efforts, and issued instructions to remain vigilant said office of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today.
