Ranchi, Dec. 23 -- Emphasising that the real measure of government schemes lies in the increase in farmers' income, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey on Tuesday said that enhancing farmers' earnings remains the core objective of the state government. She was addressing a fisheries-related workshop and seminar as the chief guest at the Shalimar Fish Farmers Training Centre, Dhurwa.

The minister informed that the department has set a target of constructing 260 houses under the Ved Vyas Awas Yojana in the state, and distribution among identified beneficiaries has already started.
