Deoria, Jan. 27 -- The opposition from the upper caste community is intensifying against the University Grants Commission (UGC) rules implemented to promote equality in higher education institutions.
The University Grants Commission Regulations, 2026 were notified on January 13, 2026. These regulations are an updated version of the anti-discrimination rules in effect since 2012.
After the implementation of this rule, protests against it have intensified, including on social media, with people claiming the rule will put pressure on students from the upper caste community.
