New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- Senior diplomat Dinesh K Patnaik has been appointed as India's next High Commissioner to Canada.
Patnaik's appointment comes nearly nine months after New Delhi withdrew its High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and other senior diplomats stationed in Canada amid diplomatic tensions.
Patnaik, a 1990-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, is now serving as India's Ambassador to Spain.
