Dharamshala, Oct. 22 -- The 14th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) is set to take place from October 30 to November 2, 2025, at the Tibetan Children's Village in Upper Dharamshala. This year's festival will open with Neeraj Ghaywan's 'Homebound', India's official Oscar entree, and close with Anuparna Roy's 'Songs of Forgotten Trees', which recently won the Orizzonti Best Director award at the Venice Film Festival.
'Homebound' follows two childhood friends from a North Indian village who aspire to become police officers. The film explores how mounting pressures strain their friendship as they pursue respect and opportunity. It debuted at Cannes and has been selected as India's entry for the 2026 Academy Awards.
