Vrindavan, March 18 -- On the auspicious occasion of Navasamvatsar (the Hindu New Year), Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri-the spiritual head (Peethadhishwar) of Bageshwar Dham-arrived in Vrindavan, the city of Lord Krishna, on Wednesday.
He performed darshan and worship with full traditional rites at the historic Thakur Madan Mohan Temple, one of the seven ancient shrines of the region.
The temple's "sevayats" (priestly attendants) guided Shastri through the rituals amidst the chanting of mantras and accorded him a grand welcome, presenting him with a "Prasadi" garland and a ceremonial stole (patka).
