Bhubaneswar, Dec. 23 -- union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to immediately reconstitute the Odisha State Backward Classes Commission (OSCBC), which has remained non-functional since the end of its tenure.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Pradhan said that reconstituting the Commission would be a crucial step toward ensuring social justice and fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of people belonging to backward classes.

He pointed out that the tenure of the OSCBC ended on January 3, 2024, and no new members have been appointed so far.
