Bengaluru, Aug. 18 -- The Dharmasthala controversy, centred around sensational allegations of murders and sexual assaults, took centre stage in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today, with the government assuring an impartial investigation and the opposition charging that the probe was shaped under political and activist pressure.
Home Minister G Parameshwara, replying to an extensive debate, told the House that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be allowed to function independently and that the truth - whatever it might be - would emerge.
