Bengaluru, July 22 -- Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka minister CT Ravi today extended support to the state government's decision to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Dharmasthala case, but strongly warned against what he termed the "trial by social media" and "targeted defamation" of a revered religious institution without due process. Speaking to media, Ravi said his party welcomes a transparent, impartial and honest probe into any wrongdoing but condemned the growing trend of passing judgments on platforms like YouTube and social media.
