Dehradun, Aug. 7 -- Rescue operations in disaster-hit Dharali village of Utarakhand gained momentum today as clear weather allowed agencies to step up efforts. So far, 233 people have been safely evacuated.

Army and paramilitary teams have started reaching the affected region through alternate routes near the China border to clear blocked roads. Search and rescue operations are being carried out jointly by the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF.

Among the rescued are local residents, an Army soldier, Agniveers, and a group of 28 tourists from Kerala. However, the total number of missing persons remains unclear.

According to official sources, 43 people were rescued today morning, 60 yesterday, and 130 on Tuesday. Six bodies have been recovered...
