Jalna, Sept. 25 -- Thousands of members of the Dhangar community participated in a massive "ultimatum march" in Maharashtra's Jalna district today, marking the eighth day of activist Deepak Borhade's indefinite hunger strike demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
The march began at Gandhi Chowk and culminated at the Collector's Office here, where Borhade has been observing his fast since September 19.
Carrying banners that read, "This mega march is for the promises given by Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP government," protestors expressed their anger at the government's silence.
Borhade was the sole speaker at the gathering, with no other leaders allowed to address the crowd in a bid to present a united front under his leadership.
