Srinagar, July 9 -- Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G P Singh, today conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements at the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam, Anantnag district-one of the key starting points for the annual Amarnath Yatra.

The DG underscored the CRPF's crucial role in facilitating a safe and smooth pilgrimage for all devotees. His visit forms part of a broader security assessment along the Yatra route.

Singh travelled by road from Jammu to Srinagar yesterday, stopping at several locations along the pilgrimage route to assess the preparedness of deployed forces. Today, he focused his attention on the Nunwan Base Camp, from where pilgrims begin their journey to the holy cave shrine.
