Kakinada, July 13 -- Former Director of AP Medical Education, Dr Raghavendrarao, today said that plants which form the greenery were very much essential for the very survival of the humans.
Participating as the chief guest at the plantation programme under the auspices of `One steps society' at the Boat Club park here, he said if plants' growth was restricted there would be oxygen scarcity and future generations would have to buy the oxygen.
Because of atmospheric pollution in some cities of Japan including Tokyo, oxygen booths were arranged along the roadside at important junctions.
Such a situation needed to be avoided by raising greenery everywhere and planting the saplings, he added.
