Chennai, Feb. 16 -- Despite global headwinds, the growth of Tamil Nadu, with sustainedhigh performance and significantly contributing to India's overall economic and developmentalprogress, remained resilient, the State Economic Survey on Monday said.
The Survey, released on the eve of the presentation of the Tamil Nadu Interim Budget in theState Assembly, Government said post pandemic recovery coincided with major policy shiftshas reshaped global trade.
Since February 2025, multiple rounds of US tariffs and retaliatory measures heightenedtrade uncertainty.
The global economy grew at 3.3% in 2025. India's economy recorded 6.49% in 2024-25,but increased its growth performance to 7.4% in 2025-26.
