Patna, Feb. 16 -- Union Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi on Sunday said that "desperation to reach first" led to the stampede at New Delhi Railway station, claiming 18 lives and leaving over a dozen injured.

Manjhi told media persons here that good arrangements were made for Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh where the Yogi Adityanath government had tried to ensure hassle-free visits of pilgrims to Prayagraj. Similarly, Railways had also made appropriate arrangements for passengers travelling to Prayagraj to take holy dip in Sangam, he added.
