Pune, July 11 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance & Planning Minister, Ajit Pawar, has written to the central government demanding an immediate halt to the illegal import of low-quality raisins from China that evade taxes and harm local grape growers. In his letter to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Pawar expressed serious concern over the illegal influx of substandard Chinese raisins into Maharashtra.
