Mumbai, March 26 -- Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of the House, Eknath Shinde, on Wednesday moved a congratulatory motion in the state Legislative Council for excellent performance of Maharashtra athletes in the National Sports Championship, as well as the championship won by the Indian team in the Kho-Kho World Cup and the Kabaddi Championship in Tehran.
In his congratulatory speech, he said that 580 athletes from the state participated in the 38th Games in Uttarakhand. In this national-level competition, athletes from Maharashtra have won as many as 201 medals, which include 54 gold, 71 silver and 76 bronze medals.
