Chennai, Jan. 7 -- The Depression over the Bay will intensify intensify further into a Deep Depressionin the next 12 hrs as Tamil Nadu braces up for heavy rains in Cauvery delta, Northern and North coastaldistricts till January 11, with the Met office issuing Orange and Yellow alerts and hoisting CautionaryWarning Signals at nine ports.
Met office in a latest update said, the Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining EastEquatorial Indian Ocean moved nearly west-northwestwards with a speed of 18 kmph during the pastsix hours.
