Bhubaneswar, July 25 -- A depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of coastal West Bengal and Bangladesh is expected to trigger heavy rainfall across Odisha, according to Met department sources.
The system moved west-northwestwards at a speed of 13 kmph and crossed the coasts of West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh earlier today. It is very likely to continue moving west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha and Jharkhand over the next 24 hours.
An IMD bulletin stated that squally winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, are prevailing over the north Bay of Bengal and along and off the coasts of Odisha, West Bengal, and Bangladesh, and will likely persist for the ...
