Chennai, Jan. 8 -- The Depression over the By has intensified into a DeepDepression on Thursday morning and is expected to cross the coast in SriLanka tomorrow.
Met office has forecast heavy rains in various districts of Tamil Nadu, includingthe Cauvery Delta and Northern and North Coastal districts till Januay 11.
Met office in an update said the Depression over southwest and adjoining areasof southeast Bay of Bengal and East Equatorial Indian Ocean moved nearly west-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during the past 6 hours and intensifiedinto a Deep Depression.
It lay centred at 0530 hours today, over the same region, about 420 km east-southeast of Pottuvil (Sri Lanka), 470 km east-southeast of Batticaloa (SriLanka), 470 km east-s...
