Bhubaneswar, Sept. 25 -- The Odisha Government today alerted district collectors to remain alert to ensure proper preparedness for heavy rainfall following formation of a low pressure over Bay of Bengal likely to intensify into depression.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) sources have asked the district collectors to make necessary arrangements and said ODRAF teams would be deployed to assist with any emergency response.
According to the India Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal around 12 PM on the upcoming day.
It is likely to intensify into a depression by September 26 and may bring heavy rainfall to South Odisha and northern coastal regions on the morning of September 27.
