Lucknow, Dec. 15 -- A severe cold wave combined with snowfall in the hilly regions has intensified winter conditions across Uttar Pradesh.
On Monday morning, dense fog engulfed at least 20 cities, including Varanasi, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Jaunpur, Meerut, and Gorakhpur.
The dense fog has also led to a series of road accidents across the state. On Monday alone, four major accidents were reported in which 31 vehicles collided with each other, leaving 11 people injured.
A day earlier, on Sunday, six fog-related accidents involved 29 vehicles, resulting in the deaths of seven people.
On Saturday, eight accidents occurred, with 40 vehicles crashing into each other and four fatalities reported.
