Shimla, Dec. 5 -- Dense fog prevails in the plains of Himachal Pradesh as a result, the visibility is down to 50 meters in areas near the Beas River in Mandi.
Fog also enveloped the lower reaches of Bilaspur, Sujanpur, Una, and Solan, reducing visibility to 100 meters.
A fog alert has also been issued for these districts on Saturday as well.
Light rain and snowfall are expected in the higher elevations of the state today. Light snowfall is possible in the higher peaks of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kinnaur. Other areas will remain dry.
