New Delhi, Dec. 20 -- As dense fog covered the national capital and several other northern cities today morning, the reduced visibility resulted in cancellations of at least 138 flights at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The central government has issued clear instructions to air carriers to inform passengers concerned about the actual status of the flights.

The government has also asked the airlines to ensure the comfort of the passengers in case of flight delays.

Around 69 arrivals and 69 departures were cancelled for the day, according to information available so far.
