Copenhagen, Aug. 27 -- Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has summoned the US charge d' affaires over allegations that Washington has been conducting 'covert operations' in Greenland to increase American influence in the region.
Danish intelligence said that Greenland was part of "various kinds of influence campaigns" by the US, as per BBC.
Denmark's public broadcaster DR quoted sources as saying the aim was to infiltrate Greenland's society and promote its secession from Denmark to the US, although it was unable to clarify who the men were working for.
