Lucknow, Dec. 19 -- Serious concern was once again raised in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council over the illegal sale and use of Chinese 'manja' (kite string), with members demanding a complete and effective ban on its purchase and sale due to the growing loss of human and animal lives.

Legislative Council members Vijay Bahadur Pathak and Dinesh Kumar Goyal raised the issue in the House, describing it as a matter of public interest and importance. They urged the state government to take a clear and decisive stand to ensure a total ban on Chinese manja.
