Bengaluru, Feb. 27 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday warned that the proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies could significantly impact the representation of southern states, leading to a reduction in seats and weakening the voice of opposition parties in Parliament.
Addressing the issue, Siddaramaiah stated that if the delimitation process is based on the latest census, Karnataka's Lok Sabha seats might be reduced from 28 to 26, or at best, remain stagnant. He alleged that the BJP-led Union Government was using delimitation as a tool to diminish the political influence of the southern states while bolstering its strength in the northern regions.
