New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Lawyers practising in Delhi's trial courts have firmly rejected the Bar Council of India's (BCI) appeal to suspend their indefinite strike and announced that the agitation will continue from today as planned.

The Coordination Committee of All District Courts Bar Associations of Delhi Chairman, V K Singh, in a statement issued on Saturday evening, reiterated that police personnel must appear physically in courts for depositions and evidence.

Vice Chairman Rajpal Kasana expressed that their protest is aimed at ensuring fair and free trials and safeguarding the interests of the public at large.
