New Delhi, March 12 -- Delhi government will organise a grand programme on April 8 to mark 'World Banjara Day', showcasing the rich cultural heritage and historical contributions of the Banjara community.
The announcement came after Art, Culture and Language minister Kapil Mishra held a meeting with a delegation of the Banjara Vimukt Ghumantu Kalyan Sangh, Delhi Pradesh at the Delhi Secretariat to discuss preparations for the event.
Highlighting the community's historical role, the minister said the Banjara community made significant contributions to India's trade and social life in earlier times when modern transport systems were not developed.
