New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- Delhi's air quality showed marked improvement in the first nine months of 2025, aided by favourable meteorological conditions and sustained efforts by all concerned stakeholders, according to a statement here from the union Environment Ministry.
As per data released by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), the city recorded an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 164 during the period January to September 2025-the lowest for this period in the past eight years, barring 2020, the year of the COVID-19 lockdown.
It also said that there was not even a single day with average AQI of more than 400, besides witnessing highest number of 'Satisfactory' days, during January - September period in 2025.
