New Delhi, Dec. 17 -- The political temperature in the national capital rose sharply on Wednesday as the ruling dispensation and the opposition exchanged barbs over the worsening pollution situation, with Labour Minister Kapil Mishra launching a scathing attack on former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Addressing reporters, Mishra said the current government should not be blamed for decades of environmental neglect, arguing that pollution in Delhi was a "30-year legacy problem" inherited from previous administrations. He accused the former AAP government of failing to take concrete steps to tackle air pollution during its 13 years in power.
