New Delhi, Dec. 25 -- : The Delhi government on Thursday rolled out the Atal Canteen Scheme, a large-scale food security initiative aimed at providing affordable, nutritious and dignified meals to urban poor, daily wage workers and residents of slum clusters across the national capital.

Under the scheme, a total budgetary provision of Rs.104.24 crore has been earmarked for the operation and management of Atal Canteens. The government has decided to establish 100 such canteens across Delhi, with 45 Atal Canteens inaugurated in the first phase at locations spread across different zones of the city.
