New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested four members of a notorious interstate mobile phone theft syndicate and recovered 40 high-end smartphones worth several lakhs, an official said on Thursday.

According to the police, the arrests came after a 48-hour, round-the-clock operation led by Inspector Ashish Sharma of the Eastern Range-I Crime Branch.

"The gang had targeted the AP Dhillon concert at IGI Stadium on December 7, where several premium devices were reported stolen," said Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime-II).

The officer said that acting on specific intelligence that the gang had entered Delhi with stolen devices, a dedicated team was formed under the supervision of ACP Sunil Srivastav.
