New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- A Delhi Court on Thursday granted interim bail to former JNU scholar and activist Umar Khalid in the UAPA case alleging a larger conspiracy behind the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots.
The relief was granted to enable Khalid to attend his sister's wedding.
Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai of the Karkardooma Courts allowed Khalid interim bail from December 16 to 29, subject to furnishing a personal bond of Rs 20,000 with two sureties of the same amount.
The Bail was granted on the ground that Khalid will adhere to the strict conditions imoposed by the court.
The Court barred Khalid from contacting any witness or any person connected with the case.
