New Delhi, March 9 -- A Delhi court on Monday granted a 10-day interim bail to activist Sharjeel Imam, who is facing charges in connection with the 2020 northeast Delhi riots case.

The relief was granted by Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai of the Karkardooma Court, while hearing Imam's plea seeking temporary bail to attend his younger brother's wedding.

The court allowed Imam to be released on interim bail from March 20 to March 30, 2026.

The order directs that he furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 along with two sureties of the same amount, subject to certain conditions.
