New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- In a swift breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested the accused involved in the recent chain snatching incident targeting Congress MP R. Sudha and recovered her gold chain.
The incident took place on the morning of August 4 near the Poland Embassy in Chanakyapuri, when Sudha, a Member of Parliament from Mayiladuthurai (Tamil Nadu), was out for a walk with Rajathi, another woman MP from Rajya Sabha. A man wearing a full helmet, riding a scooty, snatched her gold chain and fled the scene, causing injuries to the MP as she fell during the attack.
Following the incident, Sudha wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expressing concern over security lapses in the national capital and seeking urgent action.
