New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai, who attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has been remanded in five-day police custody by the Tis Hazari Court.
The court's order came last night after the Delhi Police argued for custodial interrogation to further the investigation. The probe indicates that the attack was premeditated rather than impulsive.
During the Jan Sunwai at the Chief Minister's residence, he did not merely hit her with documents as initially thought but also slapped and pulled the Chief Minister's hair before security personnel intervened.
The investigation further revealed that the accused was in constant contact with an unidentified person over the phone.
