New Delhi, Oct. 23 -- The proverbial proof of the pudding is in the eating, so also the proof of river water quality is in the drinking. On Thursday, Delhi BJP spokesperson Dr, Anil Gupta, who is incidentally an environmental expert, sought to make this point by performing 'Achman', a ritual sipping of the river water.
"Dr. Anil Gupta on Thursday showed live on TV that after eight months of cleaning work, the river water now has no foul smell, while the dissolved oxygen level is between 4.5 and 5.5, and the pH level is 7.5, which is close to normal," claimed the city BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva to substantiate his contention that due to Yamuna cleaning efforts by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led government in the past eight months, the condi...
