New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva today welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to permit the use of green firecrackers during Diwali, stating that his party has consistently maintained that bursting firecrackers on one night of Diwali is not responsible for a spike in pollution levels during winter.
He pointed out that there are many other significant causes of pollution and alleged that the previous government deliberately blamed firecrackers for the rise in pollution.
Sachdeva claimed that the permission to burst green firecrackers this Diwali is a result of people's correct voting decisions in recent elections.
