New Delhi, Dec. 14 -- The capital's Air Quality Index (AQI) remained severely affected at around 460 at 8 am on Sunday, indicating extremely hazardous conditions, despite the implementation of the strict anti-pollution curbs on city a day before.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) had announced GRAP-4 measures on Saturday, just hours after Stage-III restrictions were enforced, as pollution levels continued to worsen across Delhi city and adjoining National Capital Region.

Vehicular and dust pollution, much of it due to construction work, are believed to be the main culprits for Delhi's worsening air quality situation.
