Shimla, July 24 -- Over 40,000 students from the Hati community are bearing the brunt of political delays in Himachal Pradesh, as the Scheduled Tribe (ST) status granted through a central law remains unimplemented even after one and a half years.

The Shimla unit of the Central Hati Committee has termed this as an "insult to Parliament" and accused the state government of stalling, misleading, and entangling the matter in legal formalities.

Addressing a press conference, Committee President Dr Ramesh Singta, Senior Vice President Dalip Singta, and Media Incharge Anuj Sharma said students are being denied scholarships and job opportunities due to the non-issuance of ST certificates.
