Dehra, Sept. 10 -- MLA Kamlesh Thakur today inaugurated a mass plantation drive organized under the 76th Van Mahotsav in Ghed Mangarh Panchayat of Dehra Assembly constituency. The programme was organized by the Dehra Forest Division where she planted a mango sapling to mark the beginning of the campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Thakur urged every individual to plant at least one sapling, emphasizing that trees are the foundation of life and the strongest means of environmental conservation. She said that the state is facing recurring natural disasters and large-scale plantation is an effective measure to mitigate their impact.
