New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- The Ministry of Defence today firmly rejected media reports claiming that India has paused defence procurement talks with the United States, in the wake of tensions over US President Donald Trump slapping more tariffs on India.

Sources in the Defence Ministry described the media reports as "false and fabricated", adding that procurement are being progressed as per the extant procedures.

"The news reports on India pausing the talks related to defence purchases with the US are false and fabricated. It is clarified that the various cases of procurement are being progressed as per the extant procedures," sources said.
