New Delhi, Dec. 1 -- In view of increased security concerns along India's borders and within the country, the ministries of Defence and Home Affairs have sought a supplementary budget of Rs 16,317 crore and Rs.2198 crore respectively, accounting for as much as 14 per cent of the total fund sought from Parliament Monday.
The Defence Ministry sought funding for procurement of aircraft and fighter jet engines, in addition to other defence capital works and equipment.
Supplementary provisions have also been made under defence revenue heads, including ordinance and establishment-related expenditure.
